  • Safety shield made in 60% of children against Corona, revealed in Sero survey

Amidst the fears of the arrival of the third wave or not, the antibodies produced automatically in the children have made them a protective shield against the coronavirus. In a survey conducted by the state government on children between the ages of five and 18, they revealed that in about 50 to 60 percent of the children, antibodies have been made against the corona on their own. The government has not yet made this report public. They examined the samples collected for the Sero survey at King George’s Medical University.

Dr. Piyali Bhattacharya, Pediatrician, Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences told that the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) survey has revealed that they have made antibodies in about two-thirds of the country’s people due to herd immunity. This also includes children. They also expected the vaccine for children by September. The vaccination campaign is also going on in full swing. Thus, the possibility of a third wave remains very low. He said that there have been cases of Delta Plus in many states of the country. Even if its range increases, the third wave will not be as effective.

According to experts, the figures are relief:

Dr. Amita Jain, Head of the Department of Microbiology at KGMU, said that they have investigated the production of antibodies in children. Its figures have been sent to the government. According to sources, they have found antibodies against corona in 60 percent of the children of Lucknow and Kanpur, while in other districts of UP it is less than 50 percent. According to experts, these figures are quite a relief. Even if the third wave comes from this, then its severity will be less.

They conducted the fourth serosurvey in Bihar, which was conducted between June 14 and July 6. Now his report has also come out. The survey confirmed that those 6 to 10 years old have fewer antibodies than older children (10 to 17 years). Whereas till now they believed that the resistance capacity to fight corona is high in young children.

They conducted serological surveys in six districts of Bihar. These included children aged 6 to 17 years. In all the six districts, 148 out of 245 samples of children aged 6 to 10 years have come positive. That is, Antibodies were made in 60.4%. While they have found 317 positives in 499 samples of adults and children. 63.5% of older children had antibodies.
