ICMR had done a study in Uttar Pradesh in which 18 people were mistakenly given Covishield and Covaxin in two different doses of the vaccine, based on which they said that it is not only safe but immunogenicity profile in such people. They also found it to be better than those who took only the first and second doses of Covishield or Covaxin.
Let us tell you that officially two different doses of the same vaccine are being given in the country. That is, if someone has got the first dose of Covaxin, then he will also get the second dose of Covaxin. If someone has taken the first dose of Covishield, then he will also feel the second dose of Covishield. In such a situation, DCGI has approved the study on the ‘mixing’ of Covaxin and Covishield.
