According to a survey by Local circles, 33 percent of Indians put their financial confidential information on e-mail, mobile, or computer due to lack of data protection information. 11% even include it in the contact list.
ATM fraud, illegal use of credit cards or debit cards have increased as the country has become digital. There has been a vast increase in the cases of getting PIN or other banking details by calling with a fake identity. Online and banking frauds have increased rapidly after the Corona epidemic.
According to a survey conducted by the local circle, 7 percent of the respondents said that they have stored their bank account, debit card CVV or ATM password, Aadhaar, PAN number, etc. on their phone.
Highlights of the survey-

- 11% said they had entered their financial information over the phone, e-mail, and computer.
- 21% of the people said that they remember everything.

- 39% said that they note down their personal financial information in diaries or copies. They made most mistakes with ATM, bank account, e-mail, or account password stored.
- 88% of people said that they have stored passwords online.
- 7% said we have done something.
- 5% said we cannot tell about this.
The report revealed that Indians often share their secret passwords with people other than their families. Seven percent of the people covered by the survey admitted that they keep important details like credit card CVV, debit card, bank account, ATM password, Aadhaar, or PAN number saved in their phone itself.

Ways to avoid fraud
- Do not give bank account, debit, or credit card details to anyone over the phone.
- Bank officials do not ask for the banking details of customers through phone, message, email, or any link.
- It has also been seen that sometimes a fraudster makes a call posing as a bank employee or an officer of the company and sends a link to solve the problem.
- If you click on this link, then a form opens in which you are asked to fill in some information. If you have filled in this information, then understand that it caught you in the trap of fraud.
- Do not click on any link received on the phone or fill any form.
- Do not share OTP, UPI PIN, or ATM PIN with anyone.
- Do not pay attention if you get an SMS for KYC. Do not call the mobile number given in SMS.
- SMS, emails, etc. of offers of jobs, policy bonuses, lotteries, cheap loans keep coming. Never trust them.
